Dr. Alireza Nazeri is a clinical cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders (arrhythmias). He is board certified in cardiovascular disease and in clinical cardiac electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Nazeri completed his advanced training in adult cardiology and interventional cardiac electrophysiology at Texas Heart Institute, in Houston, where he is a member of the professional staff. He provides cardiac electrophysiology services at Mobitz Heart and Rhythm Center PLLC at Texas Medical Center and affiliated hospitals in the Houston metropolitan area.
Dr. Nazeri has been and continues to be involved in advanced research in the fields of cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. His research has been published in prestigious medical journals and presented at national and international cardiology conferences. He is an active fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS) and of the American College of Cardiology (FACC).
Dr. Nazeri’s comprehensive services span the full spectrum of arrhythmia-related care, from screening and prevention to diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. His areas of expertise include:
- Cardiac arrhythmias: Diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Nazeri performs electrophysiology studies and ablation of arrhythmias such as atrial fibrillation (AFib), atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, and ventricular arrhythmias.
- Syncope (fainting): Consultation, diagnosis, and treatment of underlying heart rhythm disorders in patients who experience syncope
- Heart rhythm devices: Implantation, management, and monitoring of implantable heart rhythm devices, including transvenous and leadless pacemakers, implantable cardiac defibrillators (ICDs), biventricular AICD/pacemakers (cardiac resynchronization therapy), and implantable loop recorders. Dr. Nazeri also performs removal of infected or malfunctioning heart rhythm devices.
- Left atrial appendage exclusion for the prevention of stroke in patients who cannot tolerate anticoagulation therapy (blood thinners)
- Evaluation and treatment of heart rhythm disorders in patients with hereditary (congenital) heart disease.
